Do you enjoy bike racing? Do you want to contribute or give back to the sport? What better way than by becoming a licensed USA Cycling Official!

The traditional method for becoming a licensed Official is to attend a local clinic which covers the basics of how to become an official, what role officials play in the sport, what duties officials perform, and what rules are important for a new official to understand.

This online course utilizes the same materials presented at the local clinics, but does it online - allowing you to become an official at any time.

In this course you will be provided with a presentation file, a link to the USA Cycling Rule Book, and a link to the Official's License Application. There will also be a link to an online exam that must be passed before becoming an official. The exam is an open-book test, meaning you are free to utilize the presentation file and rule book while you are completing the exam.

This course will introduce you to the basic roles of officials as a bike race. We will cover format, significant rules and your role as an official for each major cycling discipline with an emphasis on customer service and teamwork. There will be hands-on exercises and self-tests throughout the class that will help prepare you for your first assignment as an official.
